Saving Energy and Building Community with the Save to Give Challenge

March, 2021

Focus on Energy is Wisconsin’s statewide administrator of utility-funded programs driving investment in energy efficiency and renewable resources.

In seeking to help residents in rural Wisconsin better manage and save energy, they turned to a novel program model developed and facilitated with MyMeter® software.

The Save to Give challenge lets community members direct their efforts to save energy into investment in local charitable organizations.  The program is delivered on behalf of Focus on Energy by Minneapolis-based Center for Energy and Environment and Accelerated Innovations in partnership with local Wisconsin utility providers.

Here’s how it works:

Communities share in a fun, community-building, and unifying challenge.

Residents save energy and money and earn points by taking weekly actions to conserve energy each week.

When enough residents accrue points by pledging support and taking action, the community’s favorite non-profit organizations earn a donation from Focus on Energy!

MyMeter® provides the easy-to-use interface for consumers to track their usage and see their savings.

MyMeter’s® flexibility and native mobile app make putting the power to save energy in customers hands easy.
